Access Statement for Musgrove House Bed and Breakfast

We welcome everyone to Musgrove House; due to the layout of the house we are unable to provide a downstairs bedroom or to accommodate guests who are unable to manage stairs.

Steps and Stairways

There are 5 steps into the house approximately 70cm high, 350cm Wide.

The ground floor is level throughout, and all bedrooms are on the first floor.

The staircase has 14 steps to the first floor, each step is approximately 86cm wide, and 80cm high. There is a hand rail on the right hand side as you go up.

The first floor is level throughout.

Bedroom Lights

The main room light in each room has a switch at the door and a remote control in the bedside table, and there are two separate reading lamps by each side of the bed which are touch activated.

Bedding

Our Kingsized duvets are silk, but if you have any specific requirements please phone or email and we will do our very best to accommodate you.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

We are located on the corner of the Oving Rd and St James’ Rd. Approaching on the A27 Chichester by-pass, turn onto the Oving Rd (B2144) in the direction of Chichester city centre and this will bring you to the house.

Approaching from Chichester town centre, follow St Pancras (A285) round to the Hornet (A259) and then fork left at the Four Chesnuts Public House onto the Oving Road and this will bring you to the house.

There is a paved off street parking area at the back of the property. If you are approaching from the north down St James’ Rd, please turn right into the opening in our fenceline almost immediately AFTER Victoria Road on your left, and just before (less than 100ft) the mini roundabout. Otherwise, please turn north on the mini roundabout into St James Rd, and you will see the break in the fenceline less than 100ft on the left hand side almost immediately after a 20MPH school sign on your left.

There is room for three cars; two on the left hand side as you enter, and a third on the right hand side, so please allow space for other cars when you park.

Please park and then come round to the front door; we will be happy to collect your bags from the car if required.
